On Friday 11th April, past and present winners came together to celebrate the achievements of the 2025 Community Service Award recipients at a special ceremony honouring community contribution across the Shire of Wongan-Ballidu.

The Shire of Wongan-Ballidu is excited to launch its impactful road safety campaign, "When Will We Meet Again?". This campaign, in collaboration with our dedicated local emergency services, is designed to inspire safer driving habits and encourage all of us to think about the role we play in preventing accidents.

The Wongan Hills Memorial Swimming Pool will be closing for the 2024-2025 season on Sunday 6th April at 6:00 PM.

The Shire of Wongan-Ballidu proudly congratulates Bike it to Ballidu for winning the 2024 Community Sporting Event of the Year!

The Shire of Wongan-Ballidu is pleased to announce the installation of a new toilet facility at the Wongan Hills Cemetery, addressing a need identified by the community in the most recent Customer Service Survey. Preliminary planning and designs are currently underway, with construction scheduled for completion by 30 June 2025.

The Shire of Wongan-Ballidu's Australia Day BBQ Breakfast was a wonderful celebration of community spirit, bringing together friends, families, and neighbours to mark this special occasion. 

This year’s Australia Day Community Fun Day at the Wongan Hills Swimming Pool was an event to remember, with record-breaking attendance that truly showcased the vibrant spirit of our community.

Held in February 2024, the event was a huge success, raising an impressive $11,500 for the Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS). We are proud to announce this well-organised, community-driven event as Community Event of the Year for 2025.Congadulations to all those involved in the Community Event of the Year 2025 - Wongan Hills Apex Club's 'Bogan Bingo' Evening.

This dedicated and hardworking association deserves to be recognised for their invaluable contribution to the community. We are proud to announce Wongan Hills Tidy Towns Association as Community Group of the Year for 2025.

They say that music is the soundtrack to life, and if that is true then there is a single individual in the Shire of Wongan-Ballidu who has provided this community’s soundtrack for almost 50 years. Wongan Hills 2025 Citizen of the Year - Lyn Hood.

We are pleased to announce that the contract for the upgrade to the Station Public Toilets has been awarded to HS Hyde and Son. Work will be commencing on Monday 3rd February, and at this stage is expected to be completed by 31 May 2025.

The Shire of Wongan-Ballidu has made the decision to decommission the TV retransmission service effective from 23 June 2026.

A Christmas Message from the Shire President...

As of Monday 6th January 2025 all Shire and CRC customer services will be centralised and provided from the Wongan Hills CRC at "The Station" at 1 Wongan Road. Customer enquiries, walk in's and transactions will take place at the Wongan Hills CRC as of this date.

West Australian Field & Game Association will be carrying out a corella cull for the management and control of corellas within our area. This management strategy is in place for pest control due to the damage and impact on social and environmental issues caused.
