At yesterday’s Council Meeting, all five of the recently elected Councillors were officially sworn in, witnessed by Dave McFarlane, JP.
The Shire welcomes back returning councillors Cr Stuart Boekeman and Cr Mandy Stephenson, and the Shire’s three new councillors, Cr Jarrod Hood, Cr Shaun Kalajzic and Cr Lorrice Richards.
Following the swearing-in ceremony, Council carried out the required elections for the positions of Shire President and Deputy Shire President.
The council has elected Cr Stuart Boekeman to the office of Shire President, and Cr Mandy Stephenson to the office of Deputy Shire President, both were sworn in being witnessed by Brian Donnellan, JP. Both will serve a two-year term, holding office until the 2027 Local Government Ordinary Elections.
The Shire would like to thank outgoing Shire President Cr Mandy Stephenson for the past 4 and a half years as Shire President. Cr Stephenson was passionate about supporting our volunteers and community groups in particular and played a huge role in advocating for their needs and strengthening local connections across the Shire.
