Wongan Hills Caravan Park

The park is opposite one of Wongan Hills' main attractions, the Christmas Rock Trail. From the Park it is a short stroll to the town centre where you will find a supermarket, tourist centre, banks, hairdresser, pharmacy and the local pub.

Wongan Hills Caravan Park has a large variety of onsite accommodation to suit all budgets including a group lodge, chalets, cabins, studio rooms and camping spots. For their caravan and camping customers they have large cement slab powered sites and drive through powered sites as well as a grassed and shady camping area and two well maintained ablutions blocks.

Make sure you book in early over the wildflower season as they are sure to book out quickly!

Ballidu Caravan Park

Ballidu is 240km northeast of Perth along the Northam-Pithara Road. The area is most known for its spectacular wildflower displays so this is definitely worth the drive-in spring. The campground is suitable for tents, caravans and motor homes with both powered and unpowered sites and is pet friendly.

Cadoux Recreation Ground

'Cadoux Recreation Centre' King Street, Cadoux.

A relaxed and well-equipped stopover, Cadoux Recreation Ground offers a free rest area suitable for RVs, caravans and tents.

Facilities include potable water, bins, and an undercover picnic table, making it a comfortable place to pause for the night. Pets are welcome, and there are also limited powered sites available.

For added comfort, paid access to showers and toilets is available at the nearby Cadoux Recreation Centre, with access managed through Cadoux Traders, located right next door.

While you’re there, be sure to check out Cadoux Traders for meals and a wide range of general convenience items. Seasonally, they also host burger and bonfire nights, which are well worth timing your stay around. Grab a bite to eat, or settle in and enjoy it at their stunning solid wood slab table, a real highlight for travellers passing through.

Lake Ninan – 48-Hour RV Stopover

'Lake Ninan' Calingiri-Wongan Hills Road, Wongan Hills.

Located beside the wide open landscape of Lake Ninan, this free 48-hour stopover offers a quiet place to pause and take in the surroundings.

The site is available to fully self-contained vehicles only. There are no toilets or bins on site, so visitors must be fully self-sufficient and take all waste with them.

Facilities include undercover picnic tables for meals and rest breaks, and the area is pet-friendly, making it a suitable stop for travellers with animals.

No fires are permitted at the site.

With minimal light pollution and expansive skies, Lake Ninan is well known as an astrotourism and stargazing hotspot, making an overnight stay especially worthwhile.

A simple, low-impact stopover for those who enjoy natural beauty.

 

Wongan Hills – 48-Hour RV Stopover

'Wongan Hills Recreation Complex' Ninan Road, Wongan Hills.

Located right in town, the Wongan Hills RV Stopover is a convenient overnight option for travellers wanting to be close to local facilities and attractions.

The site is available to fully self-contained vehicles only and does not have toilets, so visitors must be self-sufficient.

Set beside the Wongan Hills Memorial Swimming Pool, the stopover is especially appealing during the warmer months, with the pool open seasonally from October to April.

Just a short walk away is the Wongan Hills Hotel, where travellers can enjoy a cool drink, a pub meal, or relax with a game of pool or darts.

A $5 donation is requested for stays and can be paid at the Wongan Hills Tourist Information Centre, which is also open seasonally from October to April. Be sure to stop in to learn more about local attractions and the many wildflowers found in the area.
Outside of seasonal hours, the donation can be paid in cash at the CRC.

The Gap RV Stopover

'The Gap' Waddington-Wongan Hills Road, Wongna Hills.

Quietly located near two of the area’s most popular lookouts, The Gap RV Stopover is a great base for travellers keen to experience the hills and wide Wheatbelt views.

The site is available to fully self-contained vehicles only. There are no toilets or bins on site, so visitors must be fully self-sufficient and take all waste with them.

Conveniently positioned close to Mount O’Brien and Mount Matilda, this stopover is ideal if you’re planning to watch the sun set from the Mount O’Brien lookout, or get an early start on the walking trails at Mount Matilda to enjoy the views and surrounding nature.
