Bike it to Ballidu

Bike It To Ballidu originated in 1999 by Matt Osborne. It was originally designed to be a simple fundraising activity for the Ballidu Primary School, a physical challenge with the senior room students. They would ride from Wongan Hills Tourist Information Bay to Ballidu Primary School to fundraise for the school camp. Parents became so excited about the idea they decided to join in and help their children fundraise.

The Shire of Wongan-Ballidu is committed to supporting the Bike it to Ballidu event and has allocated $10,000 in funding to the Ballidu Progress Association to support this great day and help make it bigger, better and safer for our community!

With invaluable community support, assistance from surrounding towns and the involvement from the Shire, Police, St John Ambulance, local businesses, friends and families, the event has now been going strong for 24 years.

In 2016 the Ballidu Primary School closed due to lack of numbers and after 17 years and Bike it to Ballidu was handed over to the Ballidu Progress Group to carry the torch into the future.

With commitment unique to small towns, the event has gone from strength to strength and in the last few years has achieved some of its greatest participant numbers. With an incredible effort by volunteers, this event is a day you cannot miss.

Date to be confirmed for 2023.
