Are you prepared for severe weather?

Published on Friday, 27 March 2026 at 12:21:16 PM

The Shire wishes to advise residents that a tropical cyclone system may bring severe weather conditions to our region in the coming days.

While the exact impacts are still being monitored, this system has the potential to bring:

  • Heavy rainfall
  • Damaging winds
  • Storm activity
  • Possible localised flooding

What you can do now:

  • Secure loose items around your home
  • Clear gutters and drains
  • Prepare an emergency kit (torches, batteries, food, water, medications)
  • Stay up to date with weather warnings
  • Check on neighbours, particularly the elderly or vulnerable

We encourage all residents to monitor official updates and follow advice from emergency services.
