The Department of Biodiversity Conservation and Attractions will be undertaking rabbit control operations in Wongan Conservation Park from Monday 23 February 2026 to Tuesday 30 June 2026.

1080 grain baits will be used in combination with a Calicivirus release to reduce rabbit grazing on populations of threatened plants, like the Wongan Triggerplant, located approximately 2.5km north of Wongan townsite.

Please look out for warning signs and ensure domestic animals, such as pet cats and dogs, do not enter Wongan Conservation Park at any time.

There are many dog-friendly walking areas in and around Wongan townsite, such as the Wongan recreation ground and Christmas Rock walk trail.

Thank you for helping us conserve threatened plants in your community.
