On March 21st, we proudly celebrated Harmony Day and welcomed 5 new citizens during our Citizenship Ceremony here in the Shire of Wongan-Ballidu. Shire President Cr Mandy Stephenson conducted the ceremony. It was a beautiful occasion as we honoured the rich diversity that makes our community strong and united. We are excited to welcome these new citizens to our growing and vibrant community.

Thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make this event meaningful. Let's continue to embrace multiculturalism and create an inclusive community where everyone belongs!

Harmony Week is a time dedicated to honouring Australia’s multiculturalism and fostering inclusivity and respect. This week is a reminder that no matter our background, culture, or beliefs, we all come together to create a stronger, more united community. Australia is built on diversity, and here in the Shire of Wongan-Ballidu, we are proud of our multicultural community, where everyone belongs.

DID YOU KNOW?
As part of Harmony Week, here are some amazing facts about Australia's multiculturalism:
- Over half of Australia's residents were born overseas or have at least one parent who was.
- Since 1945, more than 7.6 million people have migrated to Australia.
- More than 150 Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander languages are spoken across the country.
- Over 300 ancestries are represented in Australia!
Australia's diversity is truly remarkable, and Harmony Week is a great reminder of how far we’ve come as a multicultural nation. Let's continue celebrating the richness of our community!
