The Shire of Wongan-Ballidu received eight applications for the 2026 Community Development Fund (CDF), with $25,000 allocated to support local community groups and projects! 👏
Congratulations to this year's successful recipients:
🏟️ Wongan Hills Sport and Recreation Council – $5,000 towards the installation of a built-in PA system.
🏡 Wongan Ballidu Aged Persons Association Inc – $171.80 towards letterbox replacement and accessibility improvements at Ninan House.
🌱 Wongan Hills Therapy Group – $5,000 towards creating safe, inclusive and functional community spaces.
🪟 Wongan Hills Tourism Group – $1,500 towards the installation of blinds.
🚗 Wongan & District Vintage & Classic Vehicle Club Inc – $3,000 towards the Wongan Wheels & Torque Car Show Extravaganza.
🛝 Wongan Hills Playgroup – $5,536.10 towards upgrading kitchen tiles and bathroom fittings.
🚒 Ballidu VFES – $4,792.10 towards a fire station generator.
These projects will help improve local facilities, support community activities and create opportunities for residents across our Shire.
An application was also received from the Wongan Hills Pistol Club for its five-year maintenance and upgrade project. Rather than funding the project through the Community Development Fund, the Shire will provide support through a separate allocation in the 2026/27 Buildings Special Maintenance Budget.
👏 Congratulations to all recipients! We look forward to seeing these projects come to life and thank all eight applicants for their ongoing contributions to our community.
