We’re excited to welcome Peter Box, a Year 10 student from Wongan Hills District High School, who will be joining us every Wednesday for 15 weeks as part of his work experience program.

Peter is keen to learn more about the administration and office functions of both the Shire and the Community Resource Centre, with a long-term interest in potentially running his own business—either within his family’s operations or in a trade like electrical work. He has already assisted his dad with tasks such as BAS preparation and business admin for the family’s fencing business.

Peter also brings a creative and curious mindset, with interests in web design, electronics, and problem solving. He enjoys exploring how things work—often pulling electronics apart and putting them back together—and is currently studying Body Wellness and Puzzle electives at school, which further support his creative and critical thinking.

Over this time, Peter will have the chance to observe, assist, and contribute to a range of projects here at the Shire and CRC. Peter kicked off his first day last week by setting up the winter-themed display in the Library reading area and also created the image below! A great start to what’s sure to be a fantastic time ahead!

Please join us in giving Peter a warm welcome—we’re confident he’ll make the most of this experience, and we look forward to seeing his skills and confidence grow!
