MORE UPGRADES COMING TO WONGAN-BALLIDU!
Thanks to the Visitor Centre Toilet Upgrade project coming in under budget, the Shire of Wongan-Ballidu is excited to announce that the remaining funds have been allocated to five additional community projects — all focused on improving safety, accessibility, and amenity across our district:
- Wongan Hills Sports Pavilion Façade Upgrade — Enhancing the appearance of our premiere sport and recreation facility.
- Wongan Hills Memorial Swimming Pool – Car Park Upgrade —Improving safety and usability of the current car park for all pool visitors.
- Universal Access to the CRC with New Sliding Doors at the Entrance — Providing safe, accessible entry for all visitors — including people using wheelchairs, prams, and mobility aids.
- Community Park Accessible BBQ Replacement — A highly valued public BBQ will be upgraded to support community gatherings and family fun.
- Wongan Hills Airstrip Linemarking — Ensuring safety and compliance at our airstrip, which plays a vital role in RFDS emergency responses.
These projects are fully funded through the Local Roads and Community Infrastructure Program (LRCIP) by the Australian Government, with completion due by 30 June 2025.
