The Shire of Wongan-Ballidu is developing a new Art, Artists and Artisans directory, celebrating the creativity, talent and stories found throughout our community. The directory will showcase the people behind our local art, from painters, photographers and sculptors to craftspeople, makers and other artisans. It will also explore public artworks found throughout the Shire, sharing the stories behind the murals, sculptures and creative pieces that add character to our towns and communities.
More than simply a collection of artworks, the directory aims to introduce the people who create them. Through artist profiles and artworks, it will provide an opportunity to discover local artists and their work. As the directory takes shape, the Shire is keen to make sure we capture the breadth of creativity that exists across Wongan-Ballidu.
Are you a local artist or artisan? We would love to hear from you.
You don't need to be a professional artist or regularly exhibit your work to be included. If you paint, draw, sculpt, photograph, create textiles, work with metal or timber, make ceramics or practise another creative craft, we encourage you to get in touch.
The directory will provide an opportunity to celebrate local talent, preserve the stories behind creative works and help residents and visitors discover the artists and artisans who contribute to the character of Wongan-Ballidu.
