The Shire of Wongan-Ballidu warmly welcomes Doug Macaulay to the team in the role of Swimming Pool Manager.  Taking over from seasoned manager Sandy Ciabarri, Doug brings a wealth of experience to the role having previously managed swimming pools around the State.  Some may even remember Doug whose family lived in Wongan Hills between 1967 and 1974, or perhaps some will remember him from his days as Manager of the Dowerin Swimming Pool where he worked between 1992 and 1997.

Doug enjoys the lifestyle this seasonal role affords him and with four grown-up sons and six grandchildren, Doug and wife Sharon get to enjoy quality time together.  Sharon works as a teacher's aid at Guildford Grammar School.  They have planned  an exciting overseas trip next year to celebrate 35 years as a couple.  As part of their trip, Doug and Sharon hope to visit Scotland where Doug hails from.

"But before that, I am really looking forward to meeting the Wongan Hills Community" said Doug who is currently working closely with Sandy during a handover period.  Together, the two managers are making sure the water quality is perfect ahead of the swimming season which is expected to start on the 21st of October.
