New Additions to Shared Purpose Path Network

Published on Thursday, 23 January 2020 at 10:20:11 AM

Our teams have had a busy start to the year building new pathways at Parker Place and Stickland Street in addition to repairing the path at Wongan Road (near the Caravan Park). In accordance with the plan developed in 2015 to address the need for additional infrastructure to augment the existing network of pathways within the Shire, Council will continue to ensure this project remains a priority.

“By providing a safe and convenient network of pathways, we hope to encourage as many community members as possible to take more trips on foot or on their bicycles” said Shire President Jon Hasson.

The gentle gradients and low traffic volumes make both Wongan Hills and Ballidu ideal locations for cycling and walking and we look forward to seeing everyone out and about in the fresh air. The project is supported through Transport WA’s Regional Bike Network Grant Program which sets out a framework for the provision of a safe and sustainable cycling network across WA.
