Lumen Wheatbelt Regional University Centre (LWRUC) are driving real change to regional education – empowering individuals across the WA Wheatbelt to fulfil their potential, increasing access to higher education through the development of four new student support hubs across the wheatbelt. The Shire of Wongan-Ballidu is fortunate to be hosting one of four study hubs in the Wheatbelt in the Wongan Hills Community Resource Centre.
LWRUC and the Shire of Wongan-Ballidu are seeking a proactive and energetic individual to become a part of the exciting new Regional University Hub located in Wongan Hills. This role will be a highly rewarding and unique opportunity to support the learning of regionally based online university students.
The Student Engagement and Support Officer is a fixed-term part-time position (20 hours per week), located at the Wongan Hills Community Resource Centre. Reporting to the LWRUC Director and Manager Community Services, the successful applicant will be responsible for determining and implementing strategies to encourage increased participation in higher education in Wongan Hills and surrounding communities. They will work as part of the LWRUC network to engage students through a holistic approach to academic support – delivering tailored one-on-one and group sessions, as well as playing an instrumental role in the evaluation of the program.
Conditions of Employment are in accordance with the Local Government Industry Award 2020 Level 5 with a salary range up to $36.80 per hour (depending on qualifications and experience), plus up to 14% superannuation.
