Important Operating Arrangements under COVID-Safe Plan

The Shire of Wongan-Ballidu is committed to the health, safety and wellbeing of its staff and its community.  As the potential spread of COVID-19 is of increasing concern, Council has decided to implement its COVID-Safe plan, effective week commencing 7 March 2022.

The plan ensures that we are taking precautionary measures to mitigate the potential risk of COVID-19 spreading to the workforce. This also ensures we can continue to provide residents with uninterrupted essential services.

Until further notice, please be advised of the following temporary arrangements:

• Commencing 7 March 2022, the Shire Administration Building (cnr Quinlan Street and Elphin Crescent, Wongan Hills) will be closed to the public.
  
  

• Management and Staff will work according to a roster allowing the Shire to manage potential exposure in the likelihood of a COVID outbreak within the community. Teams will rotate between home offices and the administration/CRC offices. We will all be working, just in a different way.

• We will operate all Shire customer service functions from the Community Resource Centre where Shire Staff will be stationed to assist you. The Community Resource Centre is located at The Station, 1 Wongan Road, Wongan Hills. Services include:
  
      ♦ Building and Planning Applications            ♦ Swimming Pool Passes
      ♦ Animal Registration                                    ♦ Works & Services Requests
      ♦ Rates Payments                                         ♦ General Enquiries
  
  
• All CRC based services including vehicle licensing, TRANS WA bookings, library and Department of Human Services access will continue to function from the Community Resource Centre.

Due to staffing requirements, please note:
The CRC will not be able to process Department of Transport licensing transactions between 1pm and 1:30pm daily.

All other COVID protocols and restrictions remain in place as per the advice and instructions issued by the Federal and State Government.
