PLAN FOR THE FUTURE
In accordance with the Local Government Act 1995, Council has developed a Plan for the Future for the 10 year period 2009 to 2019.
Section 5.56 of the Local Government Act 1995 requires Local Governments to prepare a plan for the future of its district. The plan was prepared in June 2007, adopted in July 2007 and must be reviewed every 2 years.
The plan is a summary of proposed major works to undertaken during that time as well as major services provided in the district.
The plan may be inspected at the Administration Offices, Shire of Wongan-Ballidu, Cnr Quinlan Street and Elphin Crescent, Wongan Hills between the hours of 9.00am and 4.30pm Monday to Friday.
Members of the public are invited to lodge submissions in relation to the Plan for the Future.

All submissions received by the Chief Executive Officer on or before 22 June 2009 will be considered by Council in accordance with Section 5.56 of the Local Government Act 1995. Submissions received after that date will not be considered.
Once all submissions have been considered by the Council the Plan for the Future (with or without modification) will be adopted by Council and will be available for public inspection at the Administration Offices, Shire of Wongan-Ballidu, Cnr Quinlan Street and Elphin Crescent, Wongan Hills between the hours of 9.00am and 4.30pm Monday to Friday.
The Council will endeavour to accommodate the first year of the Plan for the Future within the Budget for the 2009/2010 financial year. Any significant variation from the Plan for the Future will be disclosed by way of a note in the budget and in the annual financial report for that year.
Achievements will be measured against predetermined performance criteria and disclosed each year in the notes in the Annual Financial Report.
