WHAT DOES YOUR COUNCIL DO FOR YOU?

 

Wongan-Ballidu Councillors are honoured to have been elected by their fellow residents, and to be given the responsibility of representing our local community.

 

The staff and Councillors strive to:

Ø       promote the well-being and sense of belonging of the whole community;

Ø       provide outstanding leadership and make well informed decisions;

Ø       protect and enhance both our built heritage and natural environment;

Ø       continuously improve its communication and services; and

Ø       manage the community’s resources in the best long term interests of all.

 

The Shire provides a wide range of services for residents, ratepayers and visitors. The technical services team work hard at the construction and maintenance of roads and footpaths, traffic management, street trees and streetscape improvements, maintenance of parks and gardens, waste collection and disposal and recycling. Our development services provide town planning, building control and approvals, health control, and environmental improvements. Services for different community members include provision of community centres and facilities, youth programs, library and museum service and cultural activities.
